I'm a Mom

On why I feel I different than the average mom.....

I don't pay a lot of attention to ideas or concepts about raising children.
I don't read a lot of parenting books because I think there is no one right way to do things. For every book that you read, you can find a book that loudly proclaims the exact opposite to be true.  When it comes to advice, tips, or help, I rely on my gut and the women I admire and respect, and the books I do read tend to be Christian based.

I am a grown-up, but I am still sort of waiting to grow up. I could expand upon this, but I am pretty sure it speaks for itself. And if you have read even one of my posts, you already know this.

Our lifestyle is not 'typical'. My husband is in the Navy, so often times I am the only parent. This sort of created in me a need to just roll with things and lower expectations of how things should be. We also do not have any family to speak of anywhere near us....which is why my split ends are nearly 2 feet long :)

The only 'average mom' thing about me is that I adore my children. I love how different they are, how the play and laugh together, how each one of them teaches me something different and has changed my heart. If I get only one thing right, I really hope it is them.

By far, the best part of being a mom is how my children make me smile and make me laugh. Every day. They make me want to run down my street screaming, too, but let's just push past that for now.

Some of my favorite parenting posts are listed below. My favorite parent-themed funny posts are the Outta The Mouths of Mamas, which you can read HERE.
